LADOCK CHURCH

Intercessions for Sunday 7th June

Intercessions for Trinity 1, Sunday 7th June 2026

Let us pray for the church and for the world and let us thank God for his goodness.

Almighty God, we ask you to guide your whole church around the world and give us the desire to put aside our differences and seek to serve you.  Help us to reach out as the body of Christ to all who remain outside our church communities, especially those who feel unloved or uncared for.  Give us, through the power of your Holy Spirit opportunities to invite them into our fellowship, that they may see and know your love and care.  In a moment of silence please pray for anyone who has come into your mind this morning.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Creator God, we thank you for all the sights and sounds of the changing seasons, that show us the beauty of your creation.  By the power of your Holy Spirit show us how we can cope with our changing weather, to support those who struggle with the heat and rain and how to help your world as the climate continues to change.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Merciful God, we continue to pray for peace in our war-torn world.  We pray that those who govern us and the other nations of the world will always try to solve their differences in a peaceful way.  We pray especially for all who are working to bring about peace agreements and ceasefires. Give them the strength and diplomatic skills they need to bring peace in our troubled world.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Gracious God, we thank you for our community, our families and friends.  We pray for our children and young people. Be with those who are sitting exams at school, college or university and those starting new lives in the world of work.  Help us, through our lives and witness to create a society where the young feel valued.  We pray for all the people in our parish who have been out of work for a long time or who are struggling to cope in their current employment and are looking for a change. We ask that you guide them to the place you want them to be.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Loving God, we pray for all those who are suffering physical, emotional or mental illness.  Comfort and strengthen all who care for the mentally ill.  Be with all who care and those who suffer, through the lonely watches of the night and in the intensity of their pain. We pray not just for our own community, but also for all the health workers in the Democratic Republic of Congo caring for people with Ebola.  Help them to keep their eyes fixed on you, and give them the protection, hope and healing they need.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Holy God, your love reaches beyond the grave. At the end of our days on earth be with us and with those we love and with those whom we love and have gone before us.   We pray now for those who have recently died and those bereaved by their passing.

Lord in your Mercy: Hear our prayer

Everlasting God, as you to lead us into this coming week, help us to remember that you are always with us, guiding and leading us.

Merciful Father: Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
