LADOCK CHURCH

Intercessions for Sunday 7th December 2025

Advent 2  2025

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the freedom to come and worship together this morning.

Let us clear our minds of all that inhibits our togetherness with you. As the prophets foretold the coming of Christ, and the Baptist declared his presence, empower your church to make him known at this present time….. Guide us with wisdom and understanding in the reading of your word revealed in the Holy scripture.

Lord in thy Mercy---- Hear our prayer

Enlighten us all with repentance for past wrong and new resolve for good……… Fulfil in our time

the promise of peace and reconciliation.

Open our eyes to find your word in the bible readings…… In all our dealings with one another, enable

Us to speak the truth in love, to be a witness of faith to all who are near to us.

Lord in thy Mercy ---Hear our prayer.

We pray for all clergy remembering especially those that serve us here at Ladock.

Let us pray for the King and Queen and all the Royal family and the work and joy they bring to so many in our midst. We ask Lord that you care for them and their health.

This morning, we pray for Dame Sarah Mullally as she prepares to be installed as the Arch Bishop of canterbury.

Lord in thy Mercy--- Hear our prayer

You Lord made for us a beautiful world for us to live in and yet today our world can be so full of hatred, hostility, war and misery that at times it can be overwhelming. We ask you Lord to care for peoples caught up in disasters, wars and strife and for you to show your tender Mercy upon them.

We pray for world leaders to work peaceably together for the good of all.

Lord in thy Mercy--- hear our prayer.

May the comfort of your Holy word and the hope of future glory bring strength to those who suffer…..give them relief through the power of Christ, healing all their ills and making all things new.

We pray for any known personally to us who are sick in mind, body or spirit.

Lord in thy Mercy--- Hear our prayer

As we await the Great coming that John the Baptist spoke of may we do so by focusing on prayer and using our bibles, being patient, kind and gentle in all that we do and all we meet.

Lord in thy Mercy—hear our prayer

We pray for the many that mourn throughout the world and ask Lord that you have compassion upon them.

Grant that the souls of the departed may share the joy of all who have witnessed to the message of salvation… We give thanks for those who have gone before to prepare for us the way of peace.

May they rest in Peace and rise in Glory.

Merciful Lord, accept these prayers for the sake of thy dear son Jesus Christ our Lord

Amen
