LADOCK CHURCH

Intercessions for Sunday 2nd August 2026

Intercessions for Trinity 9 Sunday 2nd August

Almighty God, as we come together to worship and praise you, we ask you to hear our prayers for the church, the world, our local community and people in need.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Holy God, we pray for all Christian churches throughout the world as they meet to worship and praise you and enjoy fellowship with each other. We particularly pray for the safety of Christians who are persecuted because of their faith, and for organisations such as Open Doors as they support them.
We pray for the leaders of all Christian churches in Cornwall. Guide those in leadership and authority so that your people will always be focussed on your kingdom. Show us how to be your people to witness to our faith in you in our daily lives.
We pray for your blessing on our parish of Ladock. We pray that we might be so filled with joy, through our belief in you, that our hearts will overflow with love for you and for all people we meet along our journey.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Creator God, we pray for your world. We pray for those places where there is war and unrest, where people are persecuted for who they are and where people live daily with fear, starvation and thirst. We pray for aid agencies seeking to bring relief and for leaders of the nations that they would make decisions that help all people.
We also pray for all people affected by wildfires in this and many other European countries, and for those organisations that are trying to help people who have been injured or have lost their homes.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Faithful God, we thank you for the communities of which we are part and ask you to guide us to be more aware of our neighbours’ needs and ways in which we might help. We also pray for the staff and pupils of our local schools that they will enjoy their summer break and come back refreshed in September.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Loving God, we pray for all those who are experiencing suffering of any kind. We pray for those who are spending today in hospital or a hospice. We pray for the care givers in our communities, both paid and unpaid. We pray for healing and comfort for those in need and patience and compassion for those who care for them.

Almighty God, we ask you to draw close to all of them so that they may be aware of your healing presence, and we ask you to provide your peace and comfort for them at this time.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Gracious God, we pray for those who have died either recently or at this time of year and for those who mourn. We ask for your comfort for those who mourn and eternal rest in your kingdom for those whose earthly life is over. We give thanks for those whose faith was a witness to us and for those whose faith was known only to you.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Everlasting God, as we go out into the world, we pray that we may reflect your love in our families, our church and our community, so that the world will witness that we are followers of your Son Jesus Christ and this will draw others into your loving care.

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
