Intercessions for Sunday 13th July
Almighty God, as we come together to worship and praise you, and thank you for all that you give us, we ask you to hear our prayers for the church, the world, our local community and people in need.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Holy God, we pray for all Christian churches throughout the world as they meet to worship and praise you and enjoy fellowship with each other. We particularly pray for the safety of Christians who are persecuted because of their faith.
We pray for the leaders of all Christian churches in the Upper Fal Parishes; please send your Holy Spirit to guide, strengthen and inspire them as they seek to lead their congregations. We ask that there will be a growing desire to work together, and we give thanks for those who come up with fresh ways of making your name known to the wider community.
We pray for your blessing on our parish of Ladock, that your joy and your love will flow freely in and through us to reach out to people in need.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Creator God, we pray for our troubled world. Give wisdom to all world leaders and encourage them to look for ways to bring peace to all areas where there is conflict. We pray for reconciliation between people of the various faiths that exist throughout the world.
In a moment of silence, please pray for any country that you are concerned about today.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Faithful God, we thank you for the communities of which we are part and ask you to guide us to be more aware of our neighbours’ needs and ways in which we might help. We also pray for the staff and pupils of our local schools that they will enjoy their approaching summer break and come back refreshed in September.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Loving God, we pray for those who are ill at home or in hospital, for those who are experiencing extreme pain and for those anxiously awaiting a diagnosis, treatment, procedure or an operation.
In a moment of silence, please pray for one person that you know who needs God’s healing touch today.
Almighty God, we ask you to draw close to all of those mentioned so that they may be aware of your healing presence, and we ask you to provide your peace and comfort for them at this time.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Merciful God, your Son Jesus Christ is the light of the World, a light which no darkness can quench. We remember before You those who have died, either recently or at this time of year, and pray that they are now experiencing the light of Christ which shines eternally and brings hope and comfort to the bereaved.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Everlasting God, as we leave this service, we thank you for the knowledge that you are always with us as we seek to serve you during the coming week.
Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
