LADOCK CHURCH

Intercessions for Easter Sunday, 5th April 2026

Intercessions Easter Day 5th April 2026

Be with us Lord, on this glorious morning as we celebrate the Resurrection of your Son our Saviour.

With our whole hearts we thank you for the gift of Him who died for us, the gift of rising to new life, on earth and in heaven, a life everlasting.

Lord in your mercy      Hear our prayer

We thank you for the glories of the world: the land, the sea and sky, all living things and the wonders of nature. Make us careful custodians of the earth, saving it for future generations. We thank you for the season of Spring, the awakening of the earth and rising of new life.

Lord in your mercy        Hear our prayer

Father, the world needs peace, in every person and in every place. Bring peace on earth and show us ways in which we can work to bring lasting peace, in our own lives and in the lives of others. Bless all who work tirelessly to bring the abolition of war, creating peace between nations.

Lord in your mercy       Hear our prayer

We pray for our church here at Ladock, the churches of our benefice and churches all over the world. Give strength to those for whom open worship is difficult. Guide all church leaders, from our new Archbishop to clergy and worship leaders in parishes, in the armed services, and in prisons. Give them strength to minister to us through difficult times, keep them focused on the cure of souls, the spiritual needs of us all. We thank you for the glory of the bells service last Sunday and the dedication of our ringers.

Lord in your mercy         Hear our prayer

We give thanks for communities great and small, for the communities in which we live, the kindness of neighbours and friends, community events and all which makes up the common good.

Lord in your mercy        Hear our prayer

We pray for all who are sick, in body, in mind or in spirit. We thank you for those who care for the sick and the dying and ask strength especially for those who give care to loved ones at home. We lift to you all who have asked us for prayers but are unnamed. Bring healing and health, but most of all your presence, bringing peace of mind. In a moment’s silence we remember all known to us who are unwell or suffering in any way including Gill Saker’s family.

Lord in your mercy       Hear our prayer

In the glory of your risen life, we remember those dear to us who have died, all who have died as victims of violence or alone and friendless. We thank you for the life of Gill Saker, one of the Lord’s true disciples.

May they rest in peace and rise in glory.

A prayer compiled by Harry Ogden:

Come O Spirit of God and make within us your dwelling place and home.

May our darkness be dispelled by your light

And our troubles calmed by your peace;

May all evil be dispelled by your love,

All pain transformed through the suffering of Christ

And all dying glorified in His risen life.

And a prayer of St Patrick to take us out into this glorious Resurrection day:

Lord be with us this day,

Within us to purify us;

Above us to draw us up;

Beneath us to sustain us;

Before us to lead us;

Behind us to restrain us;

Around us to protect us;

Always with us….whatever befalls.

Thine be the glory Risen conquering Son.

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
