Prayers for 3rd August 2025

Lord Christ as members of your body you have made us members of one another: help us now, by the aid of the Holt Spirit, to forget ourselves and to feel the burden of others’ needs. Then O Lord, through our prayers, minister your grace and power to them as you see it most for their good, and in accordance with your will, for the glory of your name.

Lord in thy mercy—Hear our prayer.

Keep the church free from all that would cause harm to her witness… grant to all Christian people that, being risen with Christ they may grow in holiness.

Break through all greed and complacency that are damaging the lives of so many… where there is strife for material possessions, bring generosity and concern for the needs of others.

Keep us, our families and friends, in the way of peace, free from selfish quarrels… make us ready to share good things with those in our community who are in need.

Have mercy on families divided by quarrels over inheritance and ownership… bring healing where angry words and unjust deeds have separated those who should be close in love.

Lord in thy mercy .. Hear our prayer.

Lord, we pray for our Bishop and the clergy administering to us here at Ladock. We ask Lord that you give them courage, wisdom, strength and healing through you Lord as they go about their daily ministry.

Lord in thy mercy--- Hear our prayer.

Lord our governor, we pray for your servant Charles set over us in your providence as King. Give him and Queen Camilla grace and wisdom to fulfil the varied duties of their calling.

Enrich them in the life of family and home; and may King Charles always be a source of strength and inspiration to his people and promote your honour and glory ; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lord in thy Mercy—Hear our prayer.

Heavenly Father, we pray earnestly for peace in our troubled world where hatred and war prevail, where homes and lives are shattered. We especially pray for the Ukraine and middle East. Where once Jesus rode on a donkey into Jerusalem, today, less than 50 miles away war and horror see’s humans starving for want of food and water.

We pray for the many children especially as the agony of starvation is part of the ending of their earthly lives. Where expectant mothers grieve for their unborn child as to whether they will be able to produce milk to feed their infant.

Lord, we earnestly ask you to have mercy on the utter misery of these poor people and we pray for those for whom any help is too little, too late and we pray for those who grieve who are caught up in war.

Lord in thy Mercy—Hear our prayer.

Dear Lord, we ask you to bless all couples who have recently married that their lives together will be long and happy.

Bless, O God those who sing in the choir of this church that with heart and voice that have made melody, that they have enjoy their well-earned holiday.

As the county swells with holiday makers, may Cornwall’s resources be blessed to meet the need of our county.

In our prayers today let us remember our hard working farmers who toil to bring in their crops.

Lord in thy Mercy—Hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus Christ, who in the days of your life here on earth showed compassion to the sick and afflicted and made them whole : bless those who are caring on your healing work in our hospitals and nursing homes.

We pray for those in our own community who may be sick in Mind body or spirit. We pray for those who live with anxiety about their health.

This morning, we pray for Richard and Carmen as she recovers from surgery and any known personally to us.

Lord in they Mercy—Hear our prayer.

Our heavenly Father we pray for those whose hearts have been saddened by the death of someone close and dear to them. Give to them father the strong comfort which no one else can give and let them know the comforting power of the resurrection of Jesus.

We pray Lord that you will hold any who have died and keep them in eternal life.

May they rest in peace and rise in Glory

Merciful Lord accept these prayers for the sake of thy dear son our saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
