Dear Friends,
I'd like to keep you abreast of a couple of activities that are taking place:
1. Last week we held an extraordinary joint PCC meeting-meaning that each parish was represented. The meeting was convened by Archdeacon Clive as part of the consultation process regarding the pastoral reorganisation scheme that was discussed prior to my interviews. It happened that AD Clive began his role here at Truro Diocese around that time and so is taking care to ensure that due diligence has been taken in ensuring that all PCC's have agreed to the process of becoming one benefice. AD Clive explained that a parish is the geographical location of the church and the community it serves, that a benefice denotes the 'right to the living' in modern day times we might understand this where the incumbent will minister or put more crudely, where the priest will work. In order to do this we must agree on the name of the Benefice.
2. Through consensus it was agreed that we would be known as the Upper Fal Parishes (previously, we were to be called the Probus Mission Area). We shall be known within the deanery plan as the Upper Fall Mission Area comprising of each of our parishes. We must not lose sight that we are called to be a missional people telling the story of how God, through Jesus, sends us out to share his love and to call (and baptise) new disciples. We each have the challenge to share our stories of faith with those who are our neighbours and friends.
3. It was also agreed that we would seek to employ an administrator to support Caroline and Linda in their particular administrative tasks. This will take a little while to arrange, but it is hoped that we might be able to employ someone for at least two mornings a week with regular review.
Across our parishes:
4. We currently have contact with 3 schools across our patch (there are 5), we would like to offer the schools an opportunity to come into each church at least once each week of Lent. We have a resource called 'Experience Easter' which is an interactive version of the prayer stations that tell the story of Holy Week. I need some help to organise setting up these prayer stations and then to transport them from church to church. To find out more please contact Caroline (01726 337730) or Linda 01872 530265. We would love to be able to offer this but can only do so with your help.
grace and peace,
Caroline

Probus Song of the Month
Hi there, Nay from the worship group bringing you our first Song of the Month
Each month we will let you know a song that will be part of worship on the third Sunday. These may be brand new to us all, or that we've sung one or two times before. It's a chance for you to familiarise yourself with the lyrics and melodies.
This month's is 'Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me'. It might not have a title that trips of the tongue, but it has a lovely, hymnlike melody that is really easy to pick up. It's by a group called CityAlight which is based in an Anglican church in Sydney, Australia. On the website it says "We pray that the lyrics and melodies of these songs would fix eyes, hearts, and minds on Jesus."

Financially Supporting your church
The Parish Giving Scheme is our preferred method of receiving regular giving within the churches of Probus, Ladock and Grampound. If you haven't already transferred from other forms of giving then do check out how it works through the link here or by contacting your treasurer.
Please do consider whether this is a good time to review your regular giving at the church, or perhaps you would like to plan for a future donation and leave a gift in your will. The Church of England has produced guidance on legacy giving which you can find at https://www.churchofengland.org/faith-life/church-legacy.
