Shirley's Intercessions for Sunday 9th June

Intercessions for June 9th 2024

Almighty God, perfect in holiness and power, we are unworthy to speak to you because of our disloyalty and disobedience; yet your word declares that you graciously accept us in Jesus Christ your son our saviour. Lord we are sorry when we have offended you.

Strenghten our faith in that your word, that we may pray to you with confidence now in his name.

Lord in thy Mercy- Hear our prayer

Make your church constant in all the duties laid upon her, while looking always to the greater calling beyond this world – Heal her divisions and make her one in love, so that no evil may enter.

Come to the rulers of this world and make them know themselves to be responsible to only you, the Ruler of all……Give to all who desire the good of humanity a shared will and a common purpose to work freely together.

Lord in thy Mercy ---- hear our prayer

Have mercy on all who have lost their power to resist the attacks of evil…..Bless and enable those who work to relieve their suffering….Empower and protect exorcists and healers of the mind and spirit.

Lord in thy mercy—hear our prayer

Heavenly Father, we ask you to prayer for King Charles and Queen Camilla and for the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, whose lives are blighted by illness and anxiety at times. Give them courage and strength to face what lays before them with you lovingly at their side.

Lord in thy Mercy--- Hear our prayer

Direct the minds and wills, O God, of the people of this country at the present time; that men and women of integrity and ability, strong, upright and compassionate may be choose to represent the High court of Parliament; and give to us, now and always, the blessing of a wise and just government, to lead our nation into the ways of freedom and peace.

Lord in thy mercy----Hear our prayer

Heavenly Father, we pray for all those involved in the election of a new Rector for our Team of Parishes and also for the prospective candidates who have shown interest in coming to join us. May they all be guided by you Lord for a promising outcome for our Team.

The Royal Cornwall Show brings friends, neighbours, the farming community ,cattle and trade to Wadebridge and Cornwall in general this week. A time when often isolated farmers can be together. A time when families can have fun and relax. Lord we graciously thank you and ask you to ensure their safety during this event.

We eagerly await our church fete when we come together in fellowship and friendship to raise funds for our church. We pray for those organising the event and trust that many old and new faces will join us at Oxturn House.

We rightly remember all those involved in the D Day 80 commemorations this past week. We pray for all those that served as soldiers, sailors and airmen. As they met danger, let us give thanks for their courage, discipline and loyalty as they truly served our country for justice and peace.

We remember and pray for the many thousands of souls who paid the ultimate price for our freedom and remember their relatives at this time.

For those remaining few who served Lord that are left with their memories may we ask that you give them comfort and peace.

Lord in thy Mercy—Hear our prayer

Be close to our families Lord, healing the doubts and conflicts that may trouble us. Teach us also to know that all are members of our family, because they are yours.

Let us treat each other with respect, kindness and understanding, not looking for Glory or power in our lives.

We pray for our wider family, our church and all whom we meet weekly.

We pray for our clergy who administer to us and we thank them. May you God refresh and restore them when they are weary.

Lord in thy mercy

Let us pray for those who are unwell, lonely or saddened …those suffering from depression… those with disabilities, seen or unseen….. those who find it hard to make friends……those that are anxious …. those that are slow to move or act….. those that find it difficult to express themselves. Lord, you made us all and all are equal in your eyes and should be in ours.

We continue to pray for the long recovery of Graham Morcom who after many months in hospital has finally returned home to Carwinnick where he continues his rehabilitation with his family.

Lord we ask you to be with those that are ill in our parish. We remember Sue Mawer and any known personally to us.

Lord in thy Mercy---- Hear our prayer

As Jesus was raised from the dead, so grant resurrection and new life to those who have died trusting in him…..Though their outward bodies have perished

Cloth them in garments of salvation.

We remember all those who lost their lives in the D Day Landings. All those who are very dear to each of us, Let their souls rest in peace. We pray for the souls of Margaret Reed and Roger Sturdy whose ashes were interred at Ladock this past week. Let us also remember the family of Rob Burrows who died this past week from Motor Neuron Disease.

May they all rest in peace -and rise in Glory
