Jenny's Intercessions for Sunday 24th April 2022

Intercessions for 24th April 2022, 2nd Sunday of Easter.

In the power of the Spirit and in Union with Christ, let us pray to the Father.  Almighty God, hear us when we pray in faith.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we pray for our children as they return to school for their final term this year.  May they bless their teachers by their lively laughter and thirst for knowledge.

Lord in Your Mercy…Hear our Prayer

We pray for our older students with exams on the horizon in school, college and university.  May they have strength for this final task before their summer break.

Lord in Your Mercy…Hear our Prayer

We pray for teachers who dedicate their lives to their students.  May they know fulfilment and joy in their task.

Lord in Your Mercy…Hear our Prayer

We pray for the people we know whom we love.  For the people whose lives are straightforward we give You thanks.  For the people who await results of medical investigations we give You our worries.  For the people who are frail and whose lives are limited we give You our concern.

Lord in Your Mercy…Hear our Prayer

Loving Father, we entrust our friend and neighbour, Ian, to Your arms.  His last few weeks were borne with great dignity with Barbara’s loving care.  We send our love and support to Barbara who has shown such constant care for his well being and comfort over the last years.  Ian was a loving father to Vanessa and Stephen.  Look after all Ian’s family and friends in their grief.  May Ian rest in peace and rise in glory.

Lord in Your Mercy…Hear our Prayer

We pray for our Church and clergy, Linda in particular, and hope she can find rest and recuperation.  Help us to seek how we can live well, serve our communities, and do everything in Your name.

Lord in Your Mercy…Hear our Prayer

We pray for our communities, country and world.  We pray for peacekeepers, who reach beyond the boundaries, offering a hand of hope and understanding.  We pray for healers, who tend to our wounds.  We pray for justice bringers, who uncover hidden abuse, to enable justice and healing, and a different way of living.  We pray for all those living with conflict and our hearts go out to those suffering in Ukraine and other war torn countries.

Lord in Your Mercy…Hear our Prayer

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
