Church Notices for Sunday 10th January 2021
Notices for 10 January
This Sunday marks the Feast of St Ladoca and the Baptism of Christ, but the latest lockdown means that most of the activities in church that we have so patiently been resuming over the last six months have had to be curtailed again. Rotas and the choir have been suspended but we are able to have our normal services. Thus, this Sunday’s service is Holy Communion at 11.00 am with Joachim officiating.
We continue to ensure that the church is kept as Covid-compliant as possible but if you are worried about attending, please do not feel that you should do so. Similarly if you know of anyone who is struggling in any way at the moment, or if you would like a call, please contact any one of us:

Details of the online services are on the website: www.ladockchurch.org.uk.
The services for the rest of January are: 17 January, Holy Communion, 11.00 am 24 January, Service of the Word, 11.00 am 24 January, Evensong, 6.00 pm 31 January, Team Service, time and location to be advised.
In addition there is a service of Morning Prayer every Tuesday at 9.00 am.
Church Opening Times At the moment, it looks as if we will have to keep the church closed, except for services, until the end of lockdown.
Shirley Soper – Unsung Hero The presentation of the Unsung Hero award to Shirley this Sunday is another casualty of the lockdown, but we have been able to arrange a new date, 14 March, which by happy coincidence is also Mothering Sunday. If one believes what we are being told, some relaxation of the restrictions may have occurred by then and hopefully the weather will be better.
PCC Meeting Just a reminder to those concerned, there is a PCC meeting on 21 January at 8.00 pm, on Zoom.
Scam Alert we have been asked to pass on the following from Cornwall and Devon Police: The police are seeing an increase in Phishing and in particular Smishing (SMS texts) being sent to individuals stating they are eligible for the Covid vaccine, these texts purport to be from the NHS and the link in the text takes you to a very convincing looking NHS website, you are then asked to confirm your identity and provide your payment card details! (The NHS will never ask you for your payment card details).
