Collect
Lord Jesus Christ,
we thank you that in this wonderful sacrament
you have given us the memorial of your passion:
grant us so to reverence the sacred mysteries
of your body and blood
that we may know within ourselves
and show forth in our lives
the fruits of your redemption;
for you are alive and reign with the Father
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The feast of Corpus Christi is probably a complete mystery to many of you ('the vicar's gone mad!'). It is a feast where we commemorate the mystery of the Holy Eucharist itself. Anglican tradition teaches us that in the bread and the wine we meet with the real presence of Christ. We do not seek to define this too much and content ourselves that it is a mystery. Our reading from Genesis this week reminds us of the ancient importance of bread and wine, with King Melchizedek of Salem, priest of 'God Most High' bringing bread and wine out to Abraham and blessing him. In return Abraham tithed him 1 tenth of his income, demonstrating his own commitment to God.

Ladock 20th June 1100
I am taking a graveside funeral in Ladock on Monday 20th at 1100 for a Ms Claudette Richardson. The heart-breaking thing about the funeral is that there will be no mourners to say goodbye. If you are available please do come and join me so we can make a bit of an effort to say goodbye to Claudette.
Parish Giving Scheme
Firstly I want to say a big thank you to everyone who makes the Church a priority in their lives by contributing so generously to our churches. Without your contributions we would not be able to function at all. For those of you who have not yes signed up the Parish Giving Scheme is an easy way to organise your giving to the Church. Probus, GWC and Ladock all use the system. It is simple to sign up and makes giving easier for you and for our treasurers. Click Here for details.
On The Way Update
Deanery Synod will meet this coming Monday to vote on the deanery's On The Way plan. Should the vote go through it will then be up to the individual parishes to accept or reject the proposals. For our benefice On The Way means my taking on responsibility for Tresillian and St Michael Penkivel. This will have a significant impact on ministerial deployment across the churches as we are asked to do more with fewer resources. NB. There are no plans to merge PCCs or anything of that sort as there was no appetite for this.
