Reverend Ellie Goldsmith's Farewell

Farewell to Reverend Ellie

Reverend Ellen Goldsmiths last service at Ladock church as Team Vicar was on Sunday, 5th May
Ellie was joined by her husband, Bishop Chris  her sister Margaret and brother-in-law John.
How warming it was to see so many people come along to wish her well. Many of whom had been drawn by the kindness and comfort that Ellie had given them during her stay at Ladock.
The bells rung and the choir sang beautifully at this special service. Vanessa who gave intersessions included a special prayer for Ellie.
On behalf of Ladock churchwardens Shirley briefly spoke of Ellie's time with us and the impact that she had made upon Ladock church life and the wider parish during her five years here.

Ellie was thanked and wished a happy healthy retirement with Love and blessings from Ladock church.
Vanessa Morcom and David James presented Ellie with a card cross stitched by Margaret Walker and signed by many parishioners and two hybrid tea roses as a small token of appreciation.
Ellie had requested no gifts for herself. Instead,  Ladock PCC had agreed that the collection of the day should be given to a charity of Ellie's choice which was Water Aid.The figure was approximately £174.

Sunday afternoon update.
Ellie and Bishop Chris had invited anyone to their home at Vounder  to afternoon tea and 4 pm Evensong if they so wished.
Many took up the offer to have tea and cakes in the sunshine and browse the beautiful gardens. At  4 pm Evensong took place for between 35-40 people and how wonderful it must have been to hear hymns sung with such gusto drift out over the estuary at Tresillian.
